RateBeer App Reviews

Being a long time user of beer buddy, I find this "update" not quite there. Pros: - nice ui - can toggle flash for scanning - create lists - partial description drop down while rating Cons: - all entries show up as rated date of "now" - profile beer sync does a full sync, thus reordering all entered beers to "now" - complete removal of RB cellar. Im not going to create a list and add only qty 1 of a beer. - if you create a new list, you cant delete that list. - if you search and select a beer previously rated from home tab, the app crashes - if you go to the beer lists tab and try to select a beer that doesnt have a review date displayed (which is a new synced beer that displays a rated date of "now"), the app crashes - RB profile tab "activity" only shows 2 place ratings. No beers or even latest place ratings. Additional comments: - the description drop down while rating only shows superficial info (overall and style rating). At the very least itd be useful to see the abv, style, country, ibu, etc. Better would be to include the brewers description (if applicable). - the "save" rating button STILL uploads the rating rather than save locally to the device. Im not sure what the point of syncing is if this still happens. I assume the "post beer" button is to upload to RB, but again, is negated if the save uploads it already. - if the "save" to local device feature starts working, then itd assist in being able to exit out of the review process to look back at other reviews for assistance in tasting notes when absent-minded. Currently, I keep the beer buddy app on my phone to look at this stuff. Previously with only beer buddy, I launched the browser. Dont get me wrong. Both beer buddy and this app are great and I use them all the time. Im just irritated that I paid another $4 for an updated version of the same app, and it doesnt offer much advantage, and as of now, negative ease of use.

Buggy and featureless app from a website that is the opposite. Isnt the tick rating feature made for people tasting away from their computer? Everything is buggy, everything freezes. Just a garbage app from start to finish.

Newest update (which was long overdue) not compatible with older OS. Old version of app never did work. Nice job at creating a neg vibe for the otherwise ace website. Would give ZERO rating if able.

Wish I could use this app. It wont open; screen goes black. I use the web site often. Please update and make it compatible with older iphones! Just wasted $4.00!

Used beer buddy for a year and now downloaded rateBeer.. Worse downloading times, software errors, and close ups!! What a bad app for the best beer website!!

Crashes on IPhone 6 while downloading rb rating

Great and helpful app for all beerlovers, but its so bugged. Crashes, bugs, problems. Sometimes not sending reviews. And also not for iPhone 6.

Beer lists section is broken on iOS 9

The database of reviews is good, but the app is extremely slow and constantly crashes.

The best beer app for iOS just got better. Absolute seamless integration with the ratebeer we know and love. Theres no competitor that comes close. Ratebeer for iOS fuels my addiction.

A decent app but a far cry from their main website. This is lacking a lot of features, especially for $3.99. It would be great if you could do beer ticks to give it a quick rating while out at a bar. I think Ill stick with using BrewGene for my quick ratings and then just transfer my stuff over to RateBeer when Im on a computer. This app just needs work.

Tried to sign up and app crashes every time I try to login. Not worth $4

Doesnt work. Logged in, then crashes. iOS 7 with iPhone 4S. Do they even test these things?!?

Please fix. Wont login but crashes now. I love this app please help.

Fix it or refund money

I was recently turned onto the idea of craft beer. I was a Beer Advocate user but they do not support apps (come on its 2014). I started using RateBeer and was initially using their Beer Buddy App. However now they have released their official app and I couldnt be happier. They now have a "beer feed" I can see all of my friends happenings. Best $4 Ive spent on a beer related item ever!

Perfect app for people who are getting into craft beer. I always use the barcode scanner at the store to see reviews for the beers I am looking at.

Finally a ratebeer app! I have been using the site for years.

If you like beer, if you like variety, if you want to try new beers (and dont want to waste time on bad or mediocre ones), this is the app to get. Great interface, and really great content.
